Working Environment

Experience a part of Thailand beyond the over-developed tourism centers, where genuine Thai culture and friendliness are in great supply. The North Andaman is an ecologically and culturally unique area. It remains relatively undeveloped and many communities still survive by their traditional livelihoods of fishing and farming. Buddhist, Muslim, and Moken sea nomad villages live side by side in harmony. Coral reefs and tropical rainforests are just minutes away from each other.

Working from the beautiful town of Kuraburi offers modern amenities and a lively market combined with easy access to waterfalls, islands, and beaches. Our office is only two hours from Phuket, while Khao Lak, Khao Soke, and Ranong are just 90 minutes away. The working environment at Andaman Discoveries is highly supportive, and we enjoy a rich social life in addition to a happy office.

About Andaman Discoveries

Our vision is to be a small, high-quality organisation with a fair distribution of profit between our business, communities, the environment, and partner groups in the North Andaman region. We will maintain quality, sincerity, respect and personal service to our guests and community partners.

We offer several village tours, including cultural tours, family tours, and hands-on tours. In addition, we arrange long-term volunteering placements, study tours, and visits to nearby Koh Surin National Park. Each of our village tours contains a diverse mix of cultural exchange, ecological, and handicraft-making activities. Our tours are designed for everybody, regardless of age or ability, including mature and single travelers. Building on our international recognition and successful partnerships, we are currently expanding our programs to offer responsible tourism programs throughout Thailand.

With an excellent reputation, steady clientele, and a unique range of products, the organization is positioned to significantly expand. Revenue has steadily increased since 2006, and Andaman Discoveries has recently completed the transition from a non-profit service organization to a self-sustaining responsible tour operator. As such, we have a diverse network of allies from the development and business sectors, and a strong degree of community-level support.
